It’s true, I am such a sucker for high waisted pants. I recently shopped at H&M and saw these pants hanging……..alone. Not because someone had placed them on the wrong rack, but because they went like hotcakes! I know this for sure because two days prior to my recent visit, they were yet to be placed on the floor. As you can imagine, I was super excited about these pants because Jess Jones was written all over them. Totally my type of style! However, as I proceeded to check out, I was faced with an issue. The pants were a size too small! Now, this has neeeever stopped me from purchasing a piece that I absolutely love. There’s a strategy for everything, and putting down the banana pudding for a few days so that I can fit into a pair of pants is mine.
Alright, enough of me rambling. Back to the subject at hand. This outfit was quite easy to piece together. Given that the pants are the statement piece or “spotlight” of the outfit, I identified a very simple crop top to wear with it. A tank top would have worked well too. Additionally, I grabbed my floppy hat (thanks Marquise!), black heels, silver glasses and was out the door! It doesn’t take much to look nice and sophisticated. The key is securing that one piece that works well with your body (in this case, the pants) and working around it to make one holistic look.
